On June 15, 2020, we took to the streets to move against social injustices and especially racial ones, which led to the On May 22, 2020, Anderson Arboleda, a 19-year-old boy who lived in the municipality of Puerto Tejada, in northern Cauca, died in a Cali hospital due to severe head trauma. According to his relatives and witnesses, the cause of his death was a brutal beating that a policeman gave him three days before, when he approached him for allegedly failing to comply with the mandatory quarantine due to covid-19. This is not the only one that shows police violence against the black Afro-descendant population in Colombia. According to a report by the organization Ilex Acción Jurídica, Afro-Colombians are more likely to be fined, detained or assaulted by the police than white or mestizo people.
